Nick Church
Lead Pastor
Nick and his wife Amanda have been serving in various callings of ministry for almost 20 years. In 2017 they answered the call to Covington Christian and Nick became the lead pastor. Amanda is a stay-at-home mom where she homeschools their 4 children and Nick is an avid outdoorsman, with fishing at the top of his list of favorite activities. When Nick is not at the church or out in the community, you can usually find him at the river or somewhere on a boat. Both Nick and Amanda are passionate about making connections with people and are very excited to be a part of what God is doing in the community and at Covington Christian Church.
Seth Canan
Worship Pastor
Seth grew up in a musical household, learning guitar from his brothers, Derrick and Richard. He has been playing in bands since he was 12 years old and currently fronts his own group, Seth Canan & The Carriers. He sparked an interest in audio engineering in the 8th grade, let that spark lead him to earning a Bachelor’s degree from Ohio University’s Audio Engineering and Music Production program in 2019. Since then he has been involved in various audio production projects. In January of 2022, he opened up Trojan City Studios in Troy, Ohio to facilitate his projects. Seth, his wife, Gabby, and daughter, Emery, are excited to continue their spiritual growth with Covington Christian Church and help build stronger relationships, sing praises, and bring glory to God. Seth is married to Gabbie and they have a beautiful new baby girl born January 1, 2023 named Emery.
Diana Schaurer
Discipleship Director
Diana’s greatest blessing is her family. She is married to a farmer named John and they have three children, Drew, Savanna and Josie. She is a 2nd grade teacher in the Covington Schools where she daily loves on many precious souls of all ages. Living in Covington her entire life has allowed Diana to make meaningful connections and build long lasting relationships with families who call this community home. Teaching children about the love of Jesus is her favorite church activity, but she enjoys every area of church life. Lazy Saturday mornings, family time, long walks on the beach, and hugs from little people are all things that make her heart happy.
Denise Wenrick
Administrative Assistant
Denise resides in Piqua with her husband Todd and their dogs. Denise came to CCC in March of 2016, having spent over 20 years in the Administrative Assistant/Secretarial field working for Cox Media Group. She enjoys spending time with family, friends and her fur babies. Denise and her husband enjoy camping. She also enjoys photography, crafting, reading and spending time in nature.
Joanie Shields
Church Caretaker
Joanie has been a member of Covington Christian church for over 30 years. I feel so blessed to be able to give back to the church in many ways. The Bible says in 1 Peter 4:10 Use your gifts to serve one another. Of course you will see Joanie's husband Jeff around the church from time to time.
